The Barometer of Young Talent in STEM Subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) shows which elements significantly promote interest in science and technology.
Society and business are reliant on well-trained experts in STEM disciplines . There is a particular skills shortage in the fields of technology and information technology.
But why does this skills shortage exist? And how can it be rectified? In order to find out, the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences surveyed more than 6000 people (school pupils, students and employees) from German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland – with some surprising results.
